The Honorable Judge Gardner, Grand Rapids

“Effective treatment programs for girls are hard to come by because most services are focused on the needs of young men.  Pathway of Hope offers a unique program that treats the entire young woman from emotional difficulties, academic success, sexual acting out or victimization and, most importantly, an opportunity to be exposed to a faith community.”

“I strongly endorse the Pathway of Hope program for girls to make changes, heal, and successfully return to their community.”

The Honorable Judge Feeney, Grand Rapids

“Pathway of Hope is a lifeline for the young women and girls in our community. In my courtroom I see girls whose lives have been devastated by drug use, physical or sexual abuse, gang involvement, and mental health challenges.  These issues may involve the girls’ poor choices or their parents’ poor choices.  The negative impact on the lives of these young women is still overwhelming and devastating.  Pathway of Hope helps these girls take responsibility for their lives.  The therapy and counseling they receive in this home-like setting empowers them to make positive changes in their lives and to shed the emotional baggage of victimization that formerly weighed them down.  There is no other program like Pathway in light of its commitment to service, its Christian emphasis, and the achievements of its graduates.  Thank you, Pathway of Hope, for all you do for the troubled girls and young women of West Michigan.”

The Honorable Judge Carpenter, Grand Rapids

“Pathway of Hope is a place where young women receive the positive support and guidance they need to move forward in their lives.  The staff and therapists at Pathway of Hope are caring, sensitive and aware of the needs that troubled girls and teens present.  I have seen sad, angry and frightened girls blossom into confident, motivated, healthy young women as a result of their work with Pathway of Hope.”

Bruce & Amy Ettinger, Parents

“Our names are Bruce and Amy Ettinger and we made the difficult decision to send our daughter Danielle to Pathway of Hope in April of 2004.  We initially met Scott Gardner in December of 2003 and he encouraged us to come and visit Pathway.  We did so, and were very impressed.  We had been looking for a program like Pathway for quite some time.  A program that offers comprehensive, holistic treatment in a faith based environment.  One of the things that really impressed us was the home feel.  There was no institutional feeling to the home at all.”

“Our experiences with Scott and the Pathway staff have been extremely positive. Our Daughter Danielle was released from Pathway in January 2005.  She graduated from High School and is currently working and going to college full time.  As parents, we feel that her time at Pathway has laid an incredibly strong foundation of truths and tools for her to use throughout her lifetime.   We would highly recommend Pathway of Hope to parents who have been searching for a safe, healing place for their daughter.  We literally looked around the entire country for options and found Pathway to be the perfect fit.”

Jolan Webster

“Pathway of Hope is a unique, multifaceted program addressing the needs of adolescent girls. Troubled girls are given love, discipline, therapy, education, and attention to their specific needs by a small and highly dedicated staff in a warm, family like setting.. As a court appointed special advocate I work with a teen-ager who is a ward of the court. She has been in residential care and foster homes, but Pathway is meeting her needs in a way that the other settings could not. The staff are extremely responsive to any concerns I have and always addresses them promptly and efficiently. It is important to me that Pathway also teaches girls to have fun without drugs, sex, or the internet. It allows the girls to develop their faith, service to others, and female relationships. The skills, self esteem, and resilience these girls develop will help them be successful as they transition to independent living or a foster home.”
